New Shrubs Available
Apple River, IL) The Eagle Nature Foundation has received a new load of fall plants for people to take home to beautify their own yards. There presently are close to 150 different varieties of plants to look at. Many of them are blooming, so people can see what they would look like in their own yards. These plants are on display in the yard next to the Eagle Nature Foundation office, located at 300 East Hickory Street, (Stagecoach Trail), in Apple River.
New plants we have received on this load, which we have never had before are: River Birch; Picea, Bob’s Blue; Cinderella Milkweed; Dwarf New England Aster; Calamintha Nepta; Calycanthus “Summer Dream”; Caryopteris “Dark Knight”; Cornus Racimosa “Irish Setter”; Smoke Bush; Diervilla “Cool Splash”; White Coneflower; Forsythia “Golden Peep”; Hosta “Double Up”; Hosta “Fire Island”; Hydrangea “Little Lime”; Lespedeza “Samidare”; Magnolia “Encore”; Picea “Mac’s Gold”; Double Knockout Roses; Sedum “Pillow Talk”; Bloomerang Lilac; and Weigela “Flamingo Pink”.
There are only two to six plants of each variety available, so they are on a first come—first served basis. The suggested prices are marked by each plant. For any plants which you take, please place at least this amount of money for each plant in the money box on the porch. The plants are available during daylight hours. We hope that everyone will be honest. If not, we may have a picture of you. The facility will be under camera surveillance.
If you come during office hours and like bald eagles, please stop in and ask to see our eagle gift shop on the second floor. For any questions, please call 815-594-2306.
