Live Raptor Shows

Apple River, IL) The Eagle Nature Foundation in cooperation with the Burpee Museum of Natural History and the Northern Illinois Raptor Rehab and Education is sponsoring two live bird of prey shows on Oct. 20th at 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm in the Burpee Museum, 737 North Main Street in Rockford, IL. Both of these shows will be held in the basement of the Burpee Museum.

Up to 15 different species of live birds of prey will be displayed and facts about the birds will be presented by the handlers. It will be an excellent opportunity to learn more about our feathered friends, which are so essential to a healthy environment. They are nature’s control of our rodent populations, which without them would be unchecked. Many of these birds are under attack and are shot by people who do not understand how important they are to our world.

Tickets for the shows can be purchased in advance or at the door. Adult tickets in advance will be $15.00 and $17.00 at the door and children’s (age 4 to 12) tickets are $12.00 in advance and $14.00 at the door. There will be no charge for children under age 4. Members of ENF and/or the Burpee Museum will receive a $4.00 discount. Send your check for whatever advanced tickets you need to ENF, 300 East Hickory Street, Apple River, IL 61001 and the tickets will be mailed to you, or you can stop in the office to purchase them, whenever it is open.
