ENF Announces
Bald Eagle Essay and Nature Art Contests

Apple River, IL) Terrence Ingram, Executive Director of the Eagle Nature Foundation (ENF) has just announced that in conjunction with ENF’s International Bald Eagle Days on Oct. 26-28, 2012 in Rochester, MN, ENF will conduct two school contests, a Bald Eagle Essay Contest and a Nature Art Contest. These contests are open to all Junior High and Senior High students; public or private, or who are home schooled. There will be no fee for a student or school to enter either contest.

Each contest will have two divisions, a Junior High Division and a Senior High Division. There will be two finalists in each division of each contest who will compete for a trophy and $100, with the second place entry receiving a $50 check. Each of the finalists will be awarded two $50 tickets to the Award Banquet on Saturday evening Oct. 27, because a student must be present at the banquet to be eligible for an award in either contest. The finalists in the essay contests will have to orally present their essays to the banquet audience for their final judging. The school sponsoring a winning student in each division of each contest will receive a plaque and a check for $50.

On Saturday afternoon and evening, Oct. 27, 2012 the Art Contest Finalists and Honorable Mention entries in each division will be on display for members of the public to observe and enjoy. Because of the lead time needed for prejudging the entries and arranging for the banquet tickets, all entries in both contests must be postmarked on or before Oct. 9, 2012. To insure that as many schools as possible are represented, each school is allowed to enter only two students in each division for each contest.

A teacher or parent desiring a complete set of rules and a registration form for each contest, should write: ENF, 300 East Hickory Street, Apple River, IL 61001 or call 815-594-2306.
