Many People Honored at IBED

Apple River) Many people were honored during the Award Ceremony part of the International Bald Eagle Days in Rochester, MN on Oct. 27. Terrence N. Ingram, Executive Director of the Eagle Nature Foundation (ENF) as Master of Ceremonies for the banquet presented the following:

First place in the High School Division of ENF’s Nature Art Contest with a $100 check and a trophy, was Greg Wirchnianski from Eastland High School, Lanark, IL;

The Eastland High School received a plaque and a check for $50;

First place in the High School Division of ENF’s Bald Eagle Essay Contest with a $100.

Check and a trophy, was Holly Husband from Goodhue Public School, Goodhue, MN;

The Goodhue Public School received a plaque and a check for $50;

Memorial Certificates were given in memory of a past ENF board member, Paul Stowell, from Elgin, IL and John Berghoff from Bensenville, IL;

Fred Kinard from Charleston, South Carolina was honored as the 2012 Bald Eagle Person of the Year with trophy.

Mary Hartman, Rochester, MN was presented with an Appreciation Certificate and plaque for her hours and days of effort to promote the event in the Rochester area.

Speakers at the conference to talk about the status of the bald eagle and its threats came from Florida, South Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee, Arizona, Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota.
